Mr. Krabs forgets his Krabby Patty recipe after he locks it in a faraway vault, so he sends SpongeBob to get it back. However, SpongeBob loses the vault key on a train and must track down who took it.
Squidward is injured at work and forces Mr. Krabs to pamper him while he recovers; Mr. Krabs and Plankton unite in their dislike of a new eatery called the Flabby Patty. A storm erupts and Squidward finds himself stuck indoors with SpongeBob and Patrick; Gary has trouble finding a new shell, and SpongeBob's alternatives to real shells aren't working.
